3/25/11 Extreme Obstacle course race kickoff
We will run a monthly series of Extreme Obstacles this year at our ranch. They will payback cash for each individual race, but we will also keep points and have year end champions who recieve money, a belt buckle, and other prizes. You are welcome to run at every show for payback, but to qualify for the year end awards you must but a membership. The yearly membership fee will be $25. It will qualify you for your year end awards, and save you money on entery fees at each race. We will run a youth division and open division. The entery fees will be $35 for the open class ( $28 for those who re members) and $20 for the youth division($14 with membership) The races will take place on the following dates:
Race 1- 3/25 12 pm
Race 2- 4/29 12pm
Race 3- 5/26 12 pm
Race 4- 6/23 12pm
Race 5- 7/29 3:30pm
Race 6- 8/25 5pm

4/12/12 Double G ranch adult horsemanship club
This will be all new for the 2012 season. We will accept up to 8 members for this riding club. We will meet every other Thursday around 5 pm or so to work on riding in a group. This series will cover everything with horses, from grooming to advanced riding. This will be for adults only and we promise it will both very educational and fun for you and your horse. There will be a one time $25 registration fee, and a monthly fee of $50 that will be due on the first thur we meet of each month. We will spend at least 2 hours per session. The dates so far scheduled are:

4/15/11 Beginner barrel basics 1 of 3 part series
This is for participants who would like to run how to run barrels and teach their horses, there will be requirements for equipment, and would like to have those who attend this clinic attend all 3 so they can complete the whole training program. Cost for each barrel series clinic will be $35.00 and will run from 2 til 5 pm

4/22/11 Roundpenning, the right way
Learn how to roundpen your horse in a way that they can understand and develop a deep bond between you and your horse of leadership, faithfulness & love. We will take 3 participants to bring their horse and have a private session with Brock or myself in the roundpen for up to 2 hours for $150 each, or you can audit this clinic for $10. this clinic will begin at 10 am and work until we are finished.

WE will be the feature clinicians at this horse expo, doing training demos with both out private horses and outside problem horses, come and join the fun of great trainers, horses, shopping, food and a day of making new horse friends! Contact us for details!
5/9/12 All new for 2012!! The Double G Ranch pony club!!
This club will be for children ages 5.5 up to age 10. WE will meet every wed in a month from 4 to 530 pm. We will accept up to 6 members for this club. The children will learn everything there is to know about horses. We will teach them the very basics of horses from proper grooming and tack fitting/saddling to advanced riding and competing at different equestrian sports of their choice. We will also include some barn & farm chores ( around 15 minutes out of each 90 minute session ) to teach them the true responsibility of horse ownership. Every child that comes here to ride wants a horse of their own, but they do not understand the work & twice daily effort that goes into having a horse! There will be a one time registration fee of $35, that will include a TShirt and water bottle. The monthly dues will due on the first Wed of the month, and will be $110 per month. The members will receive 4 to 5 monthly lessons depending on the number of days in the month. WE will also host a horse show here at the Double G before school starts back so parents can see just what their children have learned! Call or email for info, these 6 spaces will go fast! If we have enough for 2 clubs we will do one on Wed and one on Fri. This pony club will begin on May 9th, 2012, and run every Wed through June 27th, 2012 with the final show for parents on 6/27

5/12/11 & 5/13/11 Despooking clinic- Developing the brave horse
This clinic is designed into a weekend clinic to cover groundwork on day 1 and mounted work on day 2. If you have a spooky horse that is worried about the boogers coming to get him, this is the perfect clinic for you and your horse! You are encouraged to attend both days to get the maximum out of theses clinics but do not have to . The clinics will run 11 am till 3 pm both days and will be $125 per day. If you do attend both days, you will receive $50 off of the weekend fee.

5/20/12 Obstacle course clinic- Teaching your horse to say yes!
This clinic is designed to teach your horse where the answer and reward is, and knowing just when to give it. Timing and release are everything when it comes to training. We will work with each horse & rider on how to approach, ask & accomplish any obstacle with your horse. We will accept 8 horse/rider teams for this clinic, the hours will be 11 to 4pm and the cost is $75.00 per horse & rider team.

5/27/12 Fun/Open show
This will be a fun show for all ages, all breeds and disciplines are welcomed. We will host up to 15 classes both western & English throughout the day, so email you class sheet suggestions to us! There will be prizes awarded in 1st through 5th place in every class, no payback prizes only. The entery fees will be $ 5 per class or $20 for unlimited entries. Show will start at 12 pm sharp, arena will be open from 10 to 11 am for warmups and you must be signed up by 11 45 am for any classes you wish to enter! These camps are day camps that run from 9 30 am till 3 pm. They are designed for all children who love horses and all things Cowboy! We will cover activities such as Horseback riding/grooming & care for at least 3 hours per day, arts & crafts,fishing, swimming, camping & Outdoor activities and many many more! We will host a horse show on each Thursday at the end of camp to allow the parents to come out and watch what their children have learned over the week. Cost will be $185 per camper, with a sibling discount of $40. You must pre Register your child, and we have a list of items that your child will need to bring to camp each day. 6/16/12 & 6/17/11 Groundwork Basics: Teach your horse to respect you and say Yes!
Day # 2 will cover advanced groundwork. This clinic is designed for those horses that have a problem with saying no, being rude or pushy,wont tie, standing still for grooming/vet/farrier, getting in your space, that wont lead nice and a whole array of ground issues. We will take 10 participants for this clinic, and it will run from 10 am - 2 pm, cost is $75 per horse/rider team per day. You will relieve a $25 discount if you sign up for both days. You must attend the basic clinic on Sat to attend the Advanced clinic on Sunday. You must have a properly fitted rope halter and lead line that is at least 12 feet long. If you do not have this equipment, contact us. We sale custom rope halter and leads here at the double G that are Excellent quality and lst for years for an awesome value!!

6/30/12 Riding with confidence
This clinic is designed for the more timid riders, whether you are new to riding, or use to ride when you were younger, or maybe getting over a scare, accident or injury from riding. We will use our techniquies and excersizes to rebuild your confidence, and teach you to ride your horse in a safe, fun way, both alone and with others!! We will accept up to 12 riders for this clinic, and it will run from 10 am till 2 pm, cost is $125 per horse/rider team

7/7/11 Ranch roping: The basic's!
We wil teach you how to handle a rope both on and off your horse, and how to desensitize your horse to a rope. We will cover basic swings, and how to properly throw head & heel shots at a roping dummy & cattle. We will take up to 6 participants, clinic will begin at 5 pm and run through dark and cost will be $75 per horse/rider team

7/22/12 Advanced Handling & control.
This is an advanced clinic for those who can W/T/C on a loose reign and have some confidence undersaddle in both their riding level and their horse. This clinic is designed to introduce and advance performance techniques, such as spins, stops, rollbacks, sidepassing and etc.... This clinic will run from 10am through 3 pm and cost is $125 per horse/rider team.
